Art That Creates Atmosphere

My path to becoming an artist has been anything but traditional.

Growing up, I was drawn to creative pursuits from an early age. Driven by a strong sense of independence, I entered trade school while still in high school and began commuting to San Francisco, eventually building a career that would span nearly three decades. As the owner of NH2 Salon, an award-winning Aveda concept salon, I spent years immersed in creativity, design, and entrepreneurship. The salon also served as a gallery space, allowing me to live alongside original artwork and develop a deep appreciation for the role art plays in shaping how a space feels.

In 2020, what began as curiosity quickly became devotion. I immersed myself in painting—studying, experimenting, and developing a visual language rooted in atmosphere, memory, and a sense of place.

When my husband and I relocated to Eagle, Idaho, I discovered something I hadn't realized I was missing. Surrounded by foothills, farmland, open skies, and changing seasons, I found a deeper connection to the landscape and a slower rhythm of life. The natural world became both inspiration and teacher, and that connection continues to shape my work today.

My work is inspired by the quiet moments that often go unnoticed, the shifting light before a storm, distant horizons softened by haze, reflections across water, and the feeling of a landscape remembered rather than observed. Rather than depicting specific locations, I create contemporary abstract landscapes that explore atmosphere, emotion, and memory. Working in layered acrylics, oils, and mixed media, I build paintings that invite reflection, stillness, and a sense of calm.

Collectors often describe my work as atmospheric, moody, and peaceful. Whether placed in a thoughtfully designed home, hospitality space, or private collection, my intention is to create artwork that contributes to the feeling of a space rather than simply filling it. Each painting is an invitation to slow down, notice light and landscape, and reconnect with the beauty that exists in the spaces between.

Since my first solo exhibition in 2022, my work has found homes with collectors throughout the United States and internationally and has been exhibited in galleries, public spaces, universities, and cultural institutions across Idaho. Today, I create original works and commissions for collectors who believe art has the power to shape how a space feels, transforming everyday environments into places of beauty, reflection, and connection.
